- Microwaves
- Candles, incense & plug-in LED light strips
- Refrigerator if in Alumni and Founders Hall
- Extension cords (use surge-protected power strips instead)

See the full list of prohibited items on the FAQs page.
Pro Tips from Our Team
- Label Everything. Tape your name and room number on every box so volunteers can deliver items straight to your door.
- Pack an 鈥淥pen-First鈥 Tote. Include chargers, medication, a water bottle, snacks, toiletries, and a change of clothes, so you鈥檙e not digging through suitcases at midnight.
- Hydrate & Stretch. Texas heat is no joke. We鈥檒l have misting fans and cool-down stations, but pace yourself.
Next Steps
- Watch Your CTX Email for your specific move-in time and parking information.
- Review Your Housing Assignment: Make sure you know your hall and room number and check your CTX email for any housing updates or instructions from Residential Life.
- Complete Fall Housing before Move-In Day
I can鈥檛 wait to see our community cheering you on as you step onto campus. Remember: this is the start of your CTX journey, not a sprint to finish unpacking. Take a breath and soak in the moment, you鈥檙e officially home!
