Soprano Abigail Pena has served on the voice faculty at 18禁色情片 for the past 10 years where she founded the Concordia Young Voices Competition and served as a Professor of Voice teaching Applied Voice as well as Aural Skills, Vocal Pedagogy, and Diction for Singers. She also currently serves as a Lecturer of Voice on the Texas State University faculty. Prior to Concordia, she served for two years on the voice faculty at New York University.
Abigail鈥檚 students have been prize winners in multiple regional and national competitions, have performed on Broadway and in film, and have gone on to study at numerous top-tier programs around the country.
Abigail has performed as a soloist under the batons of such noted conductors as Marco Armiliato, Edoardo M眉ller, and Daniel Beckwith and has performed multiple roles in oratorio and opera including Bach鈥檚 Magnificat, Bach鈥檚 St. Matthew鈥檚 Passion, Mozart鈥檚 Vesperae solennes de confessore, Mozart鈥檚 Mass in C Minor, Haydn鈥檚 Lord Nelson Mass, Mozart鈥檚 Cos矛 fan tutte(Fiordiligi), Humperdinck鈥檚 Hansel and Gretel(Witch), Britten鈥檚 Albert Herring(Mrs. Herring), and Adamo鈥檚 Little Women(Meg). Abigail holds a BM Magna Cum Laude, a MM Summa Cum Laude and a Post-Master's Advanced Vocal Pedagogy Certificate from New York University.
